Ille Saar
In 2015-16, she participated in the Erasmus student exchange programme at Milan Conservatory G. Verdi, majoring in Opera, appearing in the lead roles in G. Puccini’s operas “Tosca” and “Manon Lescaut”. At the same time, she continued her Master’s studies in 2016-2018 as a scholarship holder of the Republic of Italy, that she completed in 2019 under Prof. Daniela Uccello. In 2017, she performed at a concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Estonia at the Association of Friends of La Scala in Milan. She has trained under the following outstanding artists: F. Patanè, R. Bruson, A. Pirozzi, F. Longhi, B. Frittoli, M. Devia, E. Palacio.
Ille has debuted in the lead roles in Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana” (2017, 2018; Parma), Verdi’s “La forza del destino” (2018; Venice), and in April 2019, she appeared on the stage of the National Opera of Estonia as the Countess in W. A. Mozart’s opera “The Marriage of Figaro”. Her achievements include the “Naan Põld” Young Singer Award by the National Opera of Estonia (2014), the Hans Teetlaus Foundation’s (ERKF) award in 2015, being a semi-finalist of the “Pelizzoni” International Opera Competition (2017). In August 2019, the Pille Lill Musicians’ Fund awarded Ille the “Marje and Kuldar Sink Young Singer 2019 Award”. In 2021, she was a semi-finalist of the “Ines Adami Corradetti” International Opera Singers Competition in Padua. In 2022, she was a professional scholarship recipient of the Estonian Cultural Endowment and this September, she received an additional professional quarterly scholarship for the purposes of pursuing her artistic endeavors. Her concert with the largest number of audience took place in Vilnius, Lithuania in August 2019, where she performed as a representative of Estonia in front of an audience of 10,000 people in the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Baltic Way. In October and November 2021, Ille went on a concert tour in Italy and Germany with her mother Pille Saar, pianist as her accompanist.
In February 2022, Ille took part in the master class of the world-famous dramatic coloratura soprano Anna Pirozzi at the Teatro Grande in Brescia, under whose tutelage she has improved herself, specialising in the dramatic coloratura repertoire of G. Verdi. In April 2022, Ille performed in Turin at a concert in a semi-scenic form dedicated to the repertoire of G. Verdi. In June 2022, Ille performed at the “Festa dell’Opera” festival at Teatro Grande in Brescia, in July 2022, she was invited to hold solo concerts named “A voyage to Europe” accompanied by pianist Pille Saar in San Marino (organised by the Music Association “Camerata del Titano”) and in Messina, Italy. In July 2022, Ille won the II prize at the XIV International Opera Singers Competition “Luciano di Pasquale” in Teramo, Italy and in September 2022 she was a semi-finalist at the “Mattia Battistini” International Opera Singers Competition at Rieti, Italy. In October 2022, she was a semi-finalist at the “XXIII Concorso Internazionale di canto Voci nuove per la lirica Gaetano Fraschini ” at Pavia, Italy and a finalist of the International Competition of Opera Singers “Città di Pienza” at Pienza, Italy. In the autumn of 2022, Ille held gala concerts in Prato (Siena) dedicated to Verdi’s masterpieces and a solo recital at the “Teatro di Titano” of San Marino broadcasted by the San Marino television. From March to June 2023, she studied at the Academy of the Theatre of Modena Pavarotti-Freni under Leone Magiera et al. In May 2023, she made her debut on the stage of the Teatro Comunale di Modena Pavarotti-Freni’s final performance ‘Dolceamaro’ of a selection of operatic pieces performed with the orchestra as Abigaille in the trio of G. Verdi’s Nabucco (conducted by Gianna Fratta, directed by Stefania Panighini). In June 2023, she sang for the ‘La festa della musica’ at the ‘La lirica nel cuore’ concert organised by the Pavarotti-Freni Municipal Theatre. In July 2023 she held recitals in Turin.
